Htein Lin
This Burmese artist and social activist was imprisoned by Burmese authorities from 1998-2004. While in jail, he used whatever tools for painting he could acquire, and composed haunting portraits which are evocative of incarceration and injustice, but also positive portraits of future hopes.

The Chilean poet, photographer and photojournalist has documented the lives of thousands of marginalised peoples. In many communities he has used photography to capture injustices or human rights abuses suffered by many voiceless victims.
Ana Tzarev
A Croatian-born painter, Ana Tzarev worked as a designer and entrepreneur before she began painting at the age of 56. Drawing on her global travels, Tzarev depicts people whom she has called the "dispossessed", whether because of political upheaval or poverty. Writing about her art, the critic Edward Lucie-Smith said that its qualities were "the generosity of its response to new experiences". Ana Tzarev also supports numerous projects that use the arts to change lives in developing countries.
