AOS Angels Performing Troupe

Fuyang Anhui province in China is notorious for a blood donation scandal during the 1990s when peasant workers were infected by the HIV virus after unclean needles were used by corrupt officials. 'We Are All The Same' was created by five children, all of whom are infected or are AIDS orphans. These children face hostility from an ignorant community who fear physical contact and remain suspicious. Through the painting, the children hope to use their own experiences to reduce the social discrimination that they and children like them experience every day. Their central message is that they share the same dreams as children whose lives are not blighted by the disease.
