The run-up to the 2009 Afghan elections were marred by violence and the rise of suicide bombers. Farid has used animation to address this phenomenon. Describing his work, Farid says that his message is broad. He wanted to create something in terms of anatomy, energy and science that reflects the suicide bombers and suicide attacks so much in the minds of Kabul's inhabitants ahead of the 2009 elections. He has attempted to depict all my feelings and thoughts about modern suicide bombers in clay animation alone. "This is challenging and interesting for me to engage with a big audience and receive their reaction. There has been some hostility to his work with some claiming he has links to militant groups. But I have kept my cool mind," he says.
