Chokoraa (Street Child)

Artform: Music

Nina uses her music to bring about positive change. Singing from Kenya, she is using her lyrics and song to advance child rights. "I am pushing society to be responsible and ensure the implementation of policies that ensure the youth are engaged in nation building, to use their talents and gifts to earn a living instead of committing crimes," she says. Her lyrics include: "Welcome to the life of the CHOKORAA. He cannot afford school fees, He no longer works, drugs is his only comfort, He lives the life of a vagabond, Honestly, who will come to his defence? He has no family, no friends, No hope, No love, If justice is a reality, then who will fight for his rights?"

"Nice work! Keep it up!! Perhaps, you could use your music to also promote disability rights. Help us tell the world that "there is ability in every disability." Bravo!"
