Farid Ahmed Khurami

The run up to the 2009 Afghan elections was marred by violence and the rise of suicide bombers. Farid has used animation to address what happened. Farid says that his message is broad - he wanted to create something in terms of anatomy, energy and science that reflects the suicide bombers and suicide attacks that were so much in the minds of Kabul's inhabitants ahead of the 2009 elections. He has attempted to depict all his feelings and thoughts about modern suicide bombers in clay animation alone. There has been some hostility to his work with some claiming he has links to militant groups. But Farid says he has kept his "cool mind".
