Freedom to Create Forum

The Freedom to Create Forum is a platform for global dialogue between international change-makers to find sustainable creative solutions and opportunities to empower the millions of women living between US$2-13 per day and help them build prosperity for themselves, their families and communities.

In many societies, women have fewer opportunities than men to contribute to society through creative self expression, whether in the arts, entrepreneurship or political leadership. Freedom to Create supports Female Creative Empowerment, with the objective of empowering marginalised women to challenge and change the contexts in which they live.

We believe Female Creative Empowerment is a driving force behind building Prosperity for Tomorrow’s World. By leveraging the powerful potential of creative arts and culture we can expand the capability of girls and women to function in all aspects of society. We believe addressing gender inequality, providing access to education and encouraging creative entrepreneurship, combined with greater access to security and healthcare will help lift millions of women and their families out of poverty.

Freedom to Create is incredibly grateful for the support, partnership, guidance and encouragement that we have received from our amazing supporters, artists, participants, judges and other organisations since we began in 2006. We have made the difficult decision to suspend Freedom to Create's Prize and Exhibitions from 31 December 2011 for a period of strategic evaluation. Thank you for your support and wishing you courage and creativity in all that you do.
