Harmonic Trine
Main Prize - 2009
Even though this Iranian band recently relocated to India, they were not immune to the shock of the recent crackdown of peaceful protestors on the streets of Tehran following the disputed elections. This song is their dedication to those who died or were arrested during various protests in Iran, and their families. It is an 11-minute song with lyrics from Hafiz, an ancient Persian poet, which shows their solidarity with the Iranian people. They sing: "Water of life has turned dark, where is glorious Elias? Flowers are bleeding, what happened to the springtime wind? Hafiz, secrets of divine nobody knows, stay silent. Whom do you ask, what happened to the wheel of time?"
