The residents of the biggest slum in Africa have created ‘Togetherness Supreme’, the world’s first feature film to be fully produced, acted, shot and directed in a slum by its own residents. The central hero of the story is an artist who is using his talents to work for social justice.
The film creates a space for people to reflect on the events that led to the post-election violence in 2008. It also creates powerful and positive role models of the actors, who are themselves members of the slum community residing in Kenya. ‘Togetherness Supreme’ received ten nominations for the African Movie Academy Awards 2010.
