Jonahmar A. Salvosa

This Filipino painter is using his artwork to express his distress over nuclear and chemical technologies. He believes that the chemical industry has been neglectful in spewing its pollutants and affecting the health of the populations of the world. The presence of chemicals degrade the environment and cause climate change, irreversible damage to the nervous system, brain development, vital organs such as kidney, pancreas, liver and reproductive system disruption. He explains: "The nurturers of the next generation are in a precarious state. Every breathe they take is compromised by pollutants without their consent.
