Michael Cory Davis

'Svetlana's Journey' was produced and directed by Michael on location in Bulgaria. He uses film to educate society about the growing epidemic of human trafficking, specifically sex trafficking of minors. In 2003, working on an action film in Bulgaria, Michael became aware of young children being solicited for sex on the streets. There he financed and made 'Svetlana's Journey', the true story of a 13-year-old girl who was sold by her adoptive parents and forced into prostitution before jumping from a window in the hope of escaping. The film explores the ways individuals are forced into trafficking via manipulation, fraud and coercion, and the tragic destiny for many victims of isolation, humiliation and ultimately death.
