The Freedom to Create Exhibition accompanied the 2009 Prize award ceremony that was held at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London on 25 November 2009. The artwork on display was sourced from notable entries received for this year's Prize.

The artworks provided a survey of global art practices and covered a broad spectrum of media from painting to embroidery and mixed-media installations.

Many of the artists featured in the Freedom to Create Exhibition had no prior arena to show their work internationally. The exhibition offers participating artists the opportunity to share their talent with new audiences and is a manifestation of how creativity can drive social change.

Freedom to Create is incredibly grateful for the support, partnership, guidance and encouragement that we have received from our amazing supporters, artists, participants, judges and other organisations since we began in 2006. We have made the difficult decision to suspend Freedom to Create's Prize and Exhibitions from 31 December 2011 for a period of strategic evaluation. Thank you for your support and wishing you courage and creativity in all that you do.
