2010 Awards Ceremony

The 2010 awards ceremony was held at the Saleh El Din Citadel in Cairo, on Friday 26 November and was hosted by international actor and UN Goodwill Ambassador Amr Waked and US television presenter Femi Oke.

Performing Artists Included

HAKIM– Egyptian superstar and the first music artist from an Arab country to perform at a Nobel Peace Prize event

Arabian Knightz – Egyptian hip hop artists and 2010 Freedom to Create Prize entrants, combining traditional Arabic music with contemporary new sounds to call for Arab unity and understanding

EeS – Groundbreaking Namibian musician and 2010 Freedom to Create Prize entrant, shaking up the African KWAITO music scene

Donia Massoud – Internationally renowned Egyptian culture and folk singer

Freedom to Create is incredibly grateful for the support, partnership, guidance and encouragement that we have received from our amazing supporters, artists, participants, judges and other organisations since we began in 2006. We have made the difficult decision to suspend Freedom to Create's Prize and Exhibitions from 31 December 2011 for a period of strategic evaluation. Thank you for your support and wishing you courage and creativity in all that you do.
