2011 - Sarajevo
21 July – 2 August 2011
National Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Following a hugely successful opening in Mumbai, the Freedom to Create Exhibition made a spectacular debut in Sarajevo, showcasing a special compilation of artworks that focused on peace building.
Opening in tandem with the 17th edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival at the National Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 21 July 2011, the Freedom to Create Exhibition showcased works from the 2010 Freedom to Create Prize entries and also presented 'Frames of Reality', a unique peace building initiative in collaboration with the Peres Center for Peace. Frames of Reality encourages the formation of personal and professional ties between photojournalists from countries in conflict and uses creative arts to build bridges, foster peace and create harmony.
Celebrating the courage and creativity of artists who use their talent to express the aspirations and angst of ordinary people, the Freedom to Create Exhibitions bring global issues to local communities and invite conversation to inspire thought and action.
