Minutes after the devastating earthquake struck the island nation of Haiti on January 12, 2010, Cine Institute trainee filmmakers were on the streets capturing the horror and the fortitude of their friends and neighbours. Luckily, all 84 youths receiving filmmaking training survived and are telling the world about their nation's reconstruction effort.

Student Lucie Dubreuse wrote: "I was at Cine Institute when everything started rolling under our feet. One of my classmates took my hand and ran to the streets with me. That's when I understood what happened. This has traumatized everyone. We are all alive at Cine Institute and we are doing our best to inform you of the situation in Jacmel."
