The reconstruction of Afghanistan after two decades of conflict is entering a critical phase as society deteriorates against the backdrop of a rise in violence and an economic dependence on opium production. As such, nurturing the younger generation will be key to determining a peaceful outcome for Afghanistan's future.
Somersault to a Bright Future trains up to 500 Afghan youths in acrobatics in order to create role models for their peers and encourage them to attend school and respect each others rights. The troupe tours throughout Afghanistan and holds bright and colourful shows which are infused with vital information about education, health, child rights, women rights and peace and reconciliation.
Highlight:
The troupe were featured on the Afghan version of American Idol, Afghan Star, which reached millions and have become a symbol of hope in Afghanistan.
