Peru may have one of the fastest growing economies in Latin America but poverty in the country remains high, with 45% of the population living under the poverty line. The education system only teaches the basics and has little room for art and creativities. In this world, disenchanted youths turn to life in the streets, where the draw of gang life proves strong. One group, Orchesta de Barro, aims to keep children off the streets and in classes by stimulating their minds through the power of music.
