The lead singer of this Germany based band is an Iranian political refugee who recorded 'Teheran Girl' as a modern-day Romeo and Juliet story of a couple striving for freedom and the right to live, love and die in Iran. The central female character loves Iran yet her boyfriend craves for a freer, and safer, society. The music clip consists of pictures and video images shot on mobile phones by protestors during the 2009 election unrest. It also focuses on the violence of the streets and the beatings the female protesters were subjected to. The band wants to show the cruel truth of what is happening on the streets of Tehran.
